The University of Johannesburg (UJ) celebrated Women’s Month with a special event that reflects the essence of what a woman is and to pay homage to the women of our nation – the mothers, the wives, the sisters and the daughters who contributed to the prosperity and progress of the country.
Internationally renowned singer, songwriter, entrepreneur, humanitarian, United Nations Ambassador and teacher, Yvonne Chaka-Chaka (aka Princess of Africa); television and radio personality, Sam Cowan; singer and actress, Marah Louw; businesswoman, Maya Makanjee; and South African media personality and UJ alumna, Bonang Matheba formed part of a panel discussion, at the Johannesburg Country Club on Thursday, 3 August 2017. They shared, with the many UJ women in attendance, their insightful thoughts and wisdom on the theme, ‘Be Grounded in Your Own Self’.
