​​​​The University of Johannesburg (UJ) concluded its application process and plans to enroll 10 500 new first-year undergraduate students and has begun its 2015 registrations for senior students.

As of Monday, 12 January, senior students can register for their academic course online and from 19 January assistance will be provided on-campus, if required. Admitted first-year undergraduate applicants will be able to register online from 19 January, once they have attended the compulsory First Year Seminar. On-campus assistance will be provided from 26 to 29 January. The registration process concludes on 30 January 2015.

Says Professor Kinta Burger, Registrar, UJ: “In 2013, the University introduced the UJ’s Late Enquiry System. This system, accessible via the UJ web or the UJ Call Centre, enables UJ to deal with all enquiries and potential late applications, space availability or the change from one programme to another in an effective, efficient and client-friendly manner. Since the introduction of this system, the University does no longer accommodate physical walk-ins (i.e. on campus late applicants or on-campus enquiries regarding space availability).”

More than 40 000 people utilised the system since it was opened on the 09th January with almost 4 400 being able to log a formal enquiry with UJ.

In addition, the University’s Call Centre assisted close to 50 000 callers to date since the 5th January Calls ranged from applicants verifying their final application status to matriculates enquiring about space availability.​
