​​The University of Johannesburg (UJ) plans to enrol 10 500 new first-year undergraduate students and has begun its 2014 registrations for senior students.

As of Monday, 13 January, senior students can register for their academic course online and from 20 January assistance will be provided on-campus if required. Admitted first-year undergraduate applicants will be able to register online from 20 January, once they have attended the compulsory First Year Seminar.

The registration process concludes on 31 January 2014.

Says Professor Kinta Burger, Registrar, UJ: “In 2013, the University introduced the UJ’s Late Enquiry System. This system, accessible via the UJ web or the UJ Call Centre, enables UJ to deal with all enquiries and potential late applications in an effective, efficient and client-friendly manner. Since the introduction of this system, the University does no longer accommodate physical walk-ins (i.e. on campus late applicants or on-campus enquiries regarding space availability).”

More than 66 500 people utilised the system since it was opened on the 10th January with more than 7 000 being able to log a formal enquiry with UJ.

In addition, the University’s Call Centre assisted close to 65 000 callers to date since the 6th January. Calls ranged from applicants verifying their final application status to matriculates enquiring about space availability.​
