The University of Johannesburg (UJ) held a series of silent protest walks during Diversity Week, to show solidarity with the rest of the country and heed the call to end all forms of violence. The walks took place on Monday, 16 September 2019 on each of the four campuses.
The walks symbolises how the institution is moving progressively towards the fight against discrimination, xenophobia, gender-based violence and other forms of violence.
This is also to promote ethical values throughout the institution, and celebrate the diversity that enriches South African societies.
