Gert Roodt, a Professor in Industrial Psychology and People Management and Vice-Dean of Research in the Faculty of Management at the University of Johannesburg (UJ), recently received the Distinguished Global Leadership Award during the Pan Pacific Business Association’s 31st annual conference in Sakai City, Osaka, Japan.
The Distinguished Global Leadership Award, the Pan-Pacific Business Association’s highest award and the seventh in the 31 year history of the Pan-Pacific Business Association, was bestowed on Prof Roodt in recognition of his extensive contributions to the global scholarly community.
Prof Roodt is the former Head of the Centre for Work Performance in the Department of Industrial Psychology and People Management, UJ.
His prolific research profile includes over 90 journal articles, 12 books, and 170 other publications. In addition, Prof Roodt has successfully supervised 22 Doctorates and 70 Master’s research-based dissertations during his 20 years of service at UJ.
He has served as Chair of a number of professional organisations, on the editorial board of nine international and national journals, and visited numerous universities in over 25 countries as a visiting scholar. He is a Fellow of the Pan-Pacific Business Association and the Society of Industrial and Organisational Psychology of South Africa.
