The appearances of the Boytjies and the UJ Miss Varsity Cup ladies sent the crowd of students into a frenzy and the atmosphere was profound – motivating the team for their next game to be played on Monday, 16 February 2015 against FNB Shimlas.
Zene van Blerk, UJ Miss Varsity Cup for 2014 and this year’s head judge of the competition, also joined the proceedings and paraded with this year’s finalists. The finalists take immense pride in this entertaining and colourful competition, illustrating that beauty can be combined with the rockiness of rugby; as a result adding flavour to an amazing event exuding interest for sports and beauty fanatics.
Zene had this to say about the 2015 Miss Varsity Cup: “We are looking for the perfect combination of beauty and brains, but the most important thing is to find someone who personifies humility.
