Prof Mishra, an Associate Professor at the Department of Applied Chemistry at UJ, and an Adjunct Professor at the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Jiangsu University, China, was honoured for his outstanding services, achievements and contributions to the science Nanoscience and Nanotechnology.
The Hind Rattan – a
Hindi phrase translated as “Jewel of India” – is one of the highest Indian diasporic awards granted annually to non-resident Indian citizens (NRIs). The award was presented by the NRI Welfare Society of India, an organisation under the umbrella of the Government of India.
Prof Mishra, obtained his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Delhi University and further his postdoctoral studies in South Africa. In 2009, he was appointed by UJ’s Department of Applied Chemistry as Senior Lecturer, and promoted to Associate Professor, in 2011.
Prof Mishra is internationally renowned and one of the most outstanding productive researchers, receiving numerous awards and medals, as well as fellowship of academies and societies. He is also a member of several editorial boards and editor of a number of international journals and books.
