The University of Johannesburg (UJ) celebrates the finalists of the first inaugural awards aimed at recognizing leading women in higher education.
The awards, hosted by the Higher Education Resource Services South Africa (HERS-SA) aim to recognise the achievements of women who inspire, motivate and lead others to achieve their best, and to attract new leadership talent to the sector.
The categories include:
- Lifetime Achiever
- Trailblazer
- Humanitarian
- Women in STEM
- Women in Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS)
- Women in Academic Administration
- Emerging Young Women Leaders
UJ has nine finalists across the different categories. The awards will take place on 7th September 2023, in Cape Town.
HERS-SA is a self-sustaining non-profit organisation (NPO), dedicated to the advancement and leadership development of women in the higher education sector. As a registered NPO, HERS-SA has advocated for and contributed to the career and leadership development of women employed in the higher education sector via carefully crafted programmes.
