Hannes Wessels, alumni in the Department Educational Psychology, and Dr Biotumelo Diale, presented a paper at the 31st International Congress of Psychology, in Yokohama, Japan on 27 July 2016 . The 31st International Congress in psychology drew representation from around the world as was evident in the kaleidoscope of topics and research fields. The focus of the paper was on Social Media and Career Counselling: using Facebook as a tool to enhance the career construction journeys of adolescents. The presentation was well received and great input was provided by the audience.
Hannes says: “Overall, it was an inspiring experience to attend the conference. To see the world class standards we work with at UJ’s Department of Educational Psychology as well as being able to engage with psychologists from around the world was very encouraging. “
