Rev. Jesse Jackson pays tribute to Mama Winnie at UJ

​”Mama Winnie needs to be honoured for continuing to fight for freedom because strong minds like her brought about strong changes,” these were the sentiments of Reverend Jesse Jackson, when he paid tribute to Mama Winnie Madikizela-Mandela at the University of Johannesburg (UJ), on Tuesday 17 April 2018, in Auckland Park Kingsway Campus.

The cleric is currently in the country as he attended Mama Winnie’s funeral which was held on Saturday, 14 April 2018 at Orlando Stadium in Soweto.

“You as the youth of today, you have access to higher education and libraries so you must learn that strong minds teach and strong minds never stop dreaming – so start developing your mind,” said Reverend Jackson.

Meanwhile, in attendance to the tribute was Businessman and radio host Tbo Touch; TT Mbha from The Black Real Estate and Jackie K. Phamotse, author of BARE, of which they all shared their life experience of how they got to where they are and giving words of motivation and encouragement to the youth.
