Lead SA to host a #ChangeMakers Conference – “Conversations for Change” at UJ

​​​​​Lead SA is set to host a #ChangeMakers Conference which aims to showcase and inspire positive change and active citizenry in the country, which will take place at the University of Johannesburg’s (UJ) Sanlam Auditorium on Saturday, 15 August 2015.​

 

Big business, CSI Directors, youth groups, NGOs and active citizens, are all invited to attend the conference starting at 9am sharp and continue until 2pm.
“The Lead SA #ChangeMakers Conference will allow ‘Conversations for Change.’ It will also be a platform for like-minded people, who are already doing great things in their respective spaces, to network with the understanding that they all have a common goal,” says Lead SA activist, Yusuf Abramjee.
A number of high level speakers will also be there to share their knowledge and personal journeys with over 1 000 people expected to attend. Lead SA Heroes and “Future Leaders” will also be there.
The event will conclude with the National Lead SA Hero of the Year and Youth Hero of the Year being awarded. These remarkable individuals continue to inspire the nation. The winners will walk-away with R250 000 for charity, thanks to the Dischem Foundation.
The #ChangeMakers Conference is supported by the University of Johannesburg and Community Hours and it also coincides with Lead SA’s 5th anniversary.
Speakers will include: Terry Volkwyn – Founder of Lead SA; Prof Ihron Rensburg – Vice-Chancellor and Principal of the University of Johannesburg; Ian Donald – Chairman and MD of Nestlé South Africa; Charlotte Mampane – CEO of the National Lotteries Board; Ndileka Mandela – Founder and CEO of the Thembekile Mandela Foundation; Bokang Montjane – Former Miss SA and founder of the Bokang Montjane Foundation; Ella Bella – Founder of Generation Earth; Imtiaz Sooliman – Founder and Chairman of Gift of the Givers; Paul Pereira – Owner of WHAM! Media; Stafford Masie – Technology Entrepreneur; Danny K – Co-founder of the Shout Foundation; Sisanda Msekele – PhD student at Wits University; Melilizwe Gqobo – Co-founder of Hubspace Khayelitsha and Future Leader; Adam Habib – Vice-Chancellor and Principal of Wits University; Prof Mamokgethi Phakeng – Vice-Principal: Research and Innovation at the University Of South Africa; Prof Lourens Van Staden – Vice-Chancellor and Principal of Tshwane University of Technology; Prof Ntate Dan Kgwadi – Vice-Chancellor of North-West University; Shaeera Kall – President of the Wits University Student Representative Council; Nick Christelis – Managing Partner of Nick Christelis and Associates; Kevin Ritchie – Editor of The Star; Roger Jardine – CEO of Primedia.
There will also be panel discussions, Q&A sessions, time to network and entertainment.
Unfortunately, tickets for this event are now sold out and all ticket proceeds will go to charity.
