On 2 August 2016, the Faculty of Management, the UJ Postgraduate School and the UJ Library hosted the first Faculty of Management 2-Minute Master’s Dissertation (2MD) and 3-Minute PhD Thesis (3MT) Competition. Seven Master’s and PhD students competed. The results were as follows:
- The 3MT winner was Tatenda Chabata from the Department of Marketing Management, his presentation was entitled ‘The influence of online brand communities on consumer’s choice of banking services.’
- The 3MT runner up was Cashandra Jasson from the Department of Business Management, her presentation was entitled ‘Middle manager value perceptions on ROI, and risk in human capital development in the African context’.
- The 2MD winner was Mike Masiapato from the Department of Public Management and Governance, his presentation was entitled ‘Cooperation of South African intelligence oversight structures for good governance.’
- The 2MD runner up was Johannes Sentsho from the Department of Tourism Management, his presentation was entitled ‘Determinants of ethical tourism behaviour in Mamelodi: Residents’ and tourists’ perspectives.’
