CSDA team grows

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Lebo Sello is an accomplished Project Manager with over 20 years work experience of planning, managing, implementing, and monitoring various projects including those in research focused on young people and children. Through these different roles, Lebo has experience developing projects scope, kept projects moving, submitted deliverables on time, and ensured a seamless experience for all parties involved. She is accomplished at building relationships and networking with key stakeholders. Her career started in the manufacturing of commercial products industry and later she developed a passion for the development sector.

Lebo is currently the Provincial Coordinator for the Basic Package of Support Project, a partnership between the universities of Johannesburg’s Centre for Social Development in Africa (CSDA) and Cape Town’s Southern Africa Labour and Development Research Unit (SALDRU).

She says: “I want to use my commitment and drive to bring more dignity and autonomy to South African youth through the BPS.”

Her previous professional experience includes Program Manager for the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) under the South African US mission’s Peace Corps. She also worked as a Training and African Leadership Program Coordinator for the Health Economics and HIV Research Division (HEARD). Lebo has also managed the Young Carers Research Project under KwaZulu-Natal, Oxford and Brown Universities as well as the Cape Area Panel Study and the Princeton Philani Khayelitsha Survey under the Cape Town, Michigan, and Princeton Universities with the Philani Nutrition Centre.

Lebo is excited to engage with influential decision-makers and thought leaders in public policy and through her work on the Basic Package of Support she hopes to engage in conversations, and an exchange of ideas from the top players in the development sector.

Her long-term goal is to become a national-level policy adviser. She holds a Master of Arts degree in Sustainable International Development from Brandeis University of the United States of America, a post graduate Degree in Project Management and a National Diploma in Production Management.

Charnré Taylor has joined the team as the Basic Package of Support Implementation Manager.  Charnré has over 12 years of management experience within the NGO sector and will be bringing her on-the-ground experience to ensure the successful implementation of the Basic Package of Support.

She says: “I absolutely love starting new programmes and the excitement, messiness and adventure that goes with that, and I am equally passionate about working with youth, and the idea that this is such a big collaborative project where there are so many people working towards this shared vision of better supporting youth in our country, I am really really excited to be part of that change.”

She has extensive experience in programme design, leading implementation strategies, demonstrating an ability to clearly articulate an organisational vision and strategy into detailed implementation plans.

She also has experience in training, managing and mentoring teams, demonstrated experience building capacity in departments such as Human Resources, Marketing, Fundraising, operations and monitoring & evaluation.

In addition she is a skilled at stakeholder engagement and is adept at working across sectors such as civil, government and corporate to enhance project implementation.

Charnré holds a Bachelor of Social Science from the University of Cape Town clinical and organisation psychology and has worked as the Director of programmes at Action Volunteers Africa and as a Programme Coordinator and Leaders Quest Coach at Salesian Life Choices.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
