UJ Press book wins prestigious theological publication prize

Three Dominicans, Frs Mike Deeb, Mark James, and Br Philippe Denis, have received the prestigious Andrew Murray Desmond Tutu Prize for their editorship of “Reluctant Prophet: Tributes to Albert Nolan,” published by the University of Johannesburg (UJ) Press.

This collection of 72 articles illuminates the life, faith, and activism of Albert Nolan, offering diverse perspectives that paint a comprehensive portrait of his impactful journey. The book’s fusion of theological insight with social justice issues resonates globally, sparking vital conversations about the Christian concept of God and urging action for fairness in today’s world. The judges, Miranda Pillay, Nontando Hadebe, and Fanie Snyman, recognised its significance.
