WHO ARE WE?

Community Engagement, through Service Learning, Organized Outreach & Community-Based-Research is a core function of the University’s academic activities. The CE Unit Coordinates UJ’s CE activities to transform and serve humanity through innovation and the collaborative pursuit of knowledge.

THE PURPOSE

The purpose of CE Day is to showcase Community Engagement (CE) projects implemented by the University of Johannesburg (UJ) faculties and divisions, the CE unit, as well as projects and programmes implemented through our wide-ranging collaborative partnerships with Community-based organizations (CBOs).

THE OBJECTIVES

To promote awareness of UJ’s community engagement projects and accomplishments both internally and externally To promote an environment of shared knowledge, resources, and efforts to address critical societal challenges Raise awareness among students for the role of higher education in social and economic responsibility through community development programs or projects.
