UJ Zoology Postgraduate Students win at the 2019 Student Symposium for the Natural Sciences

On 31 October -to1 November, six students from the Department of Zoology presented some of their research at the 2019 Student Symposium for the Natural Sciences (Studentesimposium 2019, Suid-Afrikaanse Akademie vir Wetenskap en Kuns) hosted by the University of the Free State, in Bloemfontein.

The students were Tshegofatso Fakude and Mikhaila Jardine (honours students), Heinrich Dahms and Donovan Grant (MSc students) and Refilwe Lukhwareni and Marilie Esterhuyze (PhD students). The students presented their research in Afrikaans and did the department and UJ proud.

Mr Dahms was awarded the 5th place in his session, Mrs Lukhwareni was awarded the third prize in the Afrikaans 2nd language category and Ms Fakude won the prize for best presenter in the Afrikaans second language category. Our congratulations go out to all the presenters.
