This victory marks a brilliant double for the team, following their triumph in the Engen Knockout Challenge championship back in July 2025.

Led by the experienced Delisile Mbatha, UJ’s journey to the Engen Champ of Champs title was defined by dominant performances. Over the course of the tournament, the team showcased an impressive offensive and defensive record, scoring a total of 11 goals while conceding just three.

“Thanks to UJ for giving us an opportunity with these students. It was a great team experience. The players worked hard and well and were very dedicated to the course. This win is dedicated to the UJ 20-year anniversary celebrations. We are very pround!” said Coach Mbatha.

UJ entered the final with a strong record of three wins and one draw. Their path included several convincing victories.

On Friday, October 10th, UJ enjoyed a massive 5-0 win against Mafikeng Ladies FC. The following day, the Orange Army continued where they left off with 2-1 victory over City Lads FC and a tough 2-2 draw against Cape Town Roses. On the closing day, a decisive 1-0 win against Easthigh Academy in the semifinal secured their spot in the final. UJ met the competitive Durban Ladies in the final, securing a crucial 1-0 win to lift the trophy.
