UJ Women’s Football Team players, Wade and Mohale, called for international duty

On Monday, 13 September 2021, two University of Johannesburg’s (UJ) female footballers were selected to join South Africa’s Women’s Under20 national team for World Cup Qualifiers.

Karabo Mohale joined the national camp on Thursday, 16 September 2021 which played in Mozambique until 24 September 2021. Jessica Wade was unable to join the squad that travelled to Mozambique due an injury. After her recovery, she played one game for the UJ women’s team in the Hollywoodbets Super League before departing for trials with a German team. She left South Africa on 06 October 2021.

Wade put in impressive performances in the Hollywoodbets Super League in the 2021 season.

“Congratulations to Jessica Wade and Karabo Mohale for their selection to play for the national team. This is exciting news for the UJ Football Club and the players. Being selected to represent the country means a lot and testament that UJ is doing well with the players’ development. Karabo played a full 90 minutes for South Africa. We wish Jessica the very best in her next football journey. I believe that she will do well in Germany,” says Nolufefe Sila.
