The University of Johannesburg (UJ) has once again demonstrated its dominance in the digital arena, securing a top spot in the 2024 Facebook University Ranking. In the latest uniRank evaluation, UJ has secured a top position among South African universities and earned a place among the top 200 universities worldwide on Facebook, making UJ the only South African institution to achieve this distinction.
Now ranked 61st globally, this achievement is a testament to UJ’s growing influence and appeal in the digital landscape. As of February 2024, UJ’s Facebook page boasted a dedicated following of more than 690K and a notable 610K likes. The page, currently, has over 708K followers, and the number of likes continues to rise.
Ms Michelle Radikariki, UJ’s Social Media Manager, shared her excitement: “This milestone, achieved with the strong support of our followers, is truly encouraging. We appreciate our online community for helping us become one of the most preferred university Facebook pages globally. This achievement highlights UJ’s commitment to using social media to boost brand visibility and foster community engagement.”
