UJ talk explores controversial high-fat, low-carbohydrate diet

Nutrition is largely a religion, according to University of Cape Town’s Prof Tim Noakes, who is well known for his controversial a high-fat, low-carbohydrate diet, which is also known as the Banting diet.

 

Speaking at a men’s health event at the University of Johannesburg (UJ), Prof Noakes reflected on the nutritional advice set out in his book The Real Meal Revolution. “When one start to discuss nutrition, one enter the core of a person,” said Prof Noakes when he engaged with the audience on Wednesday, 22 October 2014.
The talk was hosted by the University’s Faculty of Health Sciences, in partnership with UJ Library.
