UJ, Sweden strengthen business ties to offer student and staff opportunities to study abroad

​On Monday, 14 March 2016, the Division for Internationalisation at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) welcomed the Swedish delegation at the Auckland Park, Kingsway campus, to encourage partnerships for student and staff exchange programmes abroad.

UJ’s, Director: Corporate Services, Division for Internationalisation, Dr Taurai Imbayarwo says, “The fact that a Swedish delegation of University VCs and Directors of notable organisations visited UJ, is testament to the role and impact the university is having, not only in South Africa but also on the continent.”

“Hosting the delegation further represents a window of opportunity for UJ and Swedish Universities to partner in research collaboration, teaching, student exchange and the sharing of resources,” concluded Taurai.

In attendance was UJ’s Vice-Chancellor and Principal Prof Ihron Rensburg, who welcomed the distinguished visitors with a short address. Swedish University Vice-Chancellor,​ Prof Harriet Wallberg, further explained that Research collaboration between Sweden and South Africa is strong and indicated that opportunities for growth should always be fostered.

The Interaction between Swedish delegation members and UJ academics was nurtured and collaborative agreements will be finalised.
