The Senior Men’s and Women’s Rugby teams will travel to Rhodes University in Makhanda, Eastern Cape, to compete from 1 to 5 July 2024. In 2023, the men’s team finished the championship as silver medalists at Greenside Sports Grounds in Durban, winning against Wits University and the University of the Western Cape but falling to Stellenbosch University in the final.

Exciting times for UJ Sports

“We are ready to welcome all the participating universities’ netball teams to our home in Johannesburg as the hosts of this year’s USSA Netball Championship. We are also very excited as our other teams head out to compete in different parts of the country and hope that they finish on the podium like in previous years. It will be quite a busy period for our clubs because they play in the Eastern Cape, and different cities in Gauteng. We wish them all the very best in the games,” says Ms Nompilo Zondi, Senior Manager: UJ Sports Clubs.
