The University of Johannesburg (UJ) Senior Women’s Netball Team will welcome the spring season with the first fixture of the 2024 FNB Varsity Netball tournament on Sunday, 1 September 2024 at Wits University. The 2023 silver medallists will take on Stellenbosch University (SU-Maties) at 3pm and play Mandela University (Madibaz) the following day at 5pm in the opening Bumper Weekend in Johannesburg.

A week later, they will head to Gqeberha on 8 and 9 September to play the University of Free State (Kovsies) at 5pm and Wits at 1pm, respectively.

They also head into the tournament as the 2024 University Sport South Africa (USSA) runners-up, after they succumbed to the University of Pretoria in the final on home soil at the beginning of July. The round 5 single match will be played in Mahikeng at North-West University on 16 September against the hosts (NWU-Pukke) at 7pm.

The Orange Army ended their 2023 campaign in a fierce contest against the University of Pretoria (UP-Tuks) who were undefeated in the tournament, on 18 September 2023 in Tshwane. The closing UJ-UP Tuks match was a mouthwatering finale which ended in a 50-all draw at fulltime, going into a 14-minute extra time in which UJ narrowly lost 63-61 to UP-Tuks.

Bumper Weekend 3 will be played at Callie Hall at the UFS-Kovsies where the UJ will play Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) at 5pm on 22 September. The following day, UJ lock horns with their tough competitor UP-Tuks at 3pm.

The finals are scheduled for Monday, 7 October for positions 1-4 teams with the playoffs taking place right on the last day of the month (30th of September).
