The Research Capacity Development (RCD) Unit at the Postgraduate School, University of Johannesburg (UJ), recently hosted the exciting 2024 National Visualise Your Thesis (VYT) competition on the 18th of October, where postgraduate students from across South Africa brought their research to life through dynamic visual presentations.
This year’s competition, co-funded by the Department of Higher Education and Training’s University Capacity Development Programme (DHET UCDP) and UJ’s Strategic Initiatives & Administration Division, saw fierce competition, with Gugulethu Ndlovu from North-West University (NWU) ultimately claiming first place.
UJ’s own Isac Mabunda delivered a captivating presentation, securing a well-deserved second place. Louise Fullard from NWU took third place, while Kamvelihle Bili captivated the audience and earned the coveted People’s Choice Award.
The VYT competition highlights the power of visual communication in showcasing research and its impact, and UJ is proud to have provided a platform for these talented students to share their work.
