The Kuesta Choir Festival is an integral part of the world’s best University choral community, bringing together South Africa’s and some of the world’s best University choirs for an event of artistic excellence. The aim of the festival is to ensure the continued development of the South African universal choral music culture and to maintain the standard expected of South African university choirs.
The event promises to be a noteworthy occasion with world-class performances by four South African University choirs including University of Johannesburg, Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, NWU-Puk and Stellenbosch University.
Renowned Choirmaster Renette Bouwer said, ‘’After the success of Varsity Sing in 2017, the UJ Choir is geared to be a favourite at Kuesta where they will share the stage with NMMU, Maties and PUKKE. Its 2017 repertoire includes some contemporary music, a touch of jazz, and as always the colourful richness of our African music.”
