The University of Johannesburg (UJ), through PsyCaD Career Services, successfully hosted the Law and Commerce, Business & Economics Career Fairs at the APK Campus Auditorium Foyer, unlocking student potential by bringing together students and leading employers across key disciplines.

The Law Career Fair took place on 10 March 2026, followed by the Commerce, Business & Economics Career Fair on 12 March 2026. These events formed part of UJ’s ongoing commitment to enhancing student employability and unlocking potential by creating meaningful opportunities for direct engagement between students and industry. The career fairs provided a dynamic platform for students to connect with recruiters, explore diverse career pathways and internship opportunities, and gain valuable insights into the professional world.
The Law Career Fair focused on connecting aspiring legal professionals with top law firms, while the Commerce Business & Economics Career Fair featured a diverse range of organisations across auditing, consulting, and finance, further supporting UJ’s mission of unlocking the full potential of its students and ensuring that they are future-fit.
A final year Accounting student commended the fairs, saying that they opened opportunities for them.
“They allowed me to engage directly with recruiters and better understand what employers are looking for. It has helped me feel more confident about my career path.”

An industry representative added that events such as these gave them the opportunity to engage with future professionals and identify talent early: “UJ students demonstrate strong potential and enthusiasm.”
Through face-to-face interactions with recruiters, students gained a clearer understanding of application processes, industry expectations, and the competencies required to succeed and be future-fit. For many, the events served as a gateway into the professional world, unlocking their potential to build networks and increase their visibility among prospective employers. At the same time, employers benefited from engaging with a strong pool of talented UJ students, strengthening their recruitment pipelines.
“The Career Fair Series is a key initiative in preparing our students for the world of work. By connecting them directly with industry leaders, we are creating meaningful opportunities that support their transition from university to employment,” concluded PsyCaD Career Service’s Bongani Stuurman.
