Mutloane said studying in the
Faculty of Economic and Financial Sciences had inspired a passion to develop and to actively seek out opportunities. When the KPMG International Case Challenge presented itself to her‚ she knew this was too good an opportunity to let out of her grasp.
Mutloane’s journey to Hong Kong began with a series of challenges against 100 other students in South Africa who conducted a case study on a business operation of an existing company and recommend a suitable strategy to be implemented to improve on the existing business model as well as whether it can be positioned within the Japanese market
The next step of the competition involved evaluating a company’s crisis and suggesting a strategy for the company. She will be competing against 24 other countries.
Mutloane concluded: “UJ provided me with the skills and knowledge not only applicable to the lecture hall but also the commercial world.”
