Prof Tregenna presented a lecture on the topic “Structural change, deindustrialisation and employment” at Aporde 2016. The African Programme on Rethinking Development Economics (APORDE) is a two-week, high-level training programme in development economics, public policymaking, and development strategies aimed at building capacity in the South, particularly in Africa. International speakers at Aporde 2016 include Ha-Joon Chang, Chris Cramer, Mushtaq Khan, Gabriel Palma, Jayati Ghosh, Thandika Mkandawire, Jonathan Di John, Alejandro Nadal, John Sender and Carlos Oya.
We are also co-hosting an Aporde evening lecture with Prof Thandika Mkandawire on the topic “Social Policy and its Linkages with Industrial Policy”.
