In his 2017 State of the Province Address, the Premier of Gauteng Mr David Makhura appointed an Economic Advisory Panel, with Prof Fiona Tregenna as one of the members. The panel will advise the Premier and the Gauteng Provincial Government on implementing strategies to realise the objectives of increasing employment, empowerment, exports and inclusive growth in line with the vision set out in the National Development Plan and the Provincial Economic Plan.
