The Division of Internationalisation at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) hosted a delegation from Gambia’s Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology, and the University of Gambia (UTG) on Wednesday 1 April 2015.
The purpose of the visit was to discuss the possibilities of collaboration and capacity-building between UJ, UTG and the Gambian government.
The Minister for Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology – Dr Aboubacar Abdullah Senghore – came with the Vice-Chancellor of UTG, Professor Muhammadou MO Kah. The Gambian delegation included; His Excellency, Mr Seedy Lette, Ambassador of The Gambia to South Africa; Director of Research at the Ministry of Higher, Education, Research, Science and Technology – Ms Jainaba Jagne; Deputy Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology – Mr Madi O Jatta; Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology – Dr Cherno Omar Barry.
