​In a contemporary business environment marked by technological disruption and rapid change, industry leaders play an increasingly important role in leading change and shaping the environment that brings continued growth and development.

Bongani Dlamini, Member of UJ Parliament 2018 at University of Johannesburg (UJ) and currently UNICEF Africa’s GenUnlimited reporter, is one of just 53 exceptional young students from the fast pace cosmopolitan city of Johannesburg, selected for the week long UJ Young Leadership Program.

The intense, seven-month residential short course, hosted by The Transformation Unit in partnership with the Johannesburg Business School (JBS), Student Affairs and Academic Partners at UJ, runs from 1 March to October 2019. Participants will be exposed to a range of topics, experiential learning outings and engagements to hone their organisational leadership.

“It is inspiring to know that I will be interacting with the next generation of leadership. We share the optimism that Africa is the place on earth where the most exciting and fastest pace of change is going to be happening over the next decade or two,” said Dlamini.

“Opportunities like this do not come around very often. Which is why it’s imperative for our young leaders to be exposed to this type of environment,” added Dlamini.

Guided by industry experts this course exposes students to new perspectives and strategies as they discover the value of high impact leadership in individual, team, and organisational contexts.
