University of Johannesburg (UJ) in partnership with Southern African Society for Corporative Education (SASCE) will be hosting the 2nd Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) Africa conference, the continent’s premier platform for the development of WIL partnerships through debates, workshops, sharing best practice, creating value for the nation, the employers and students, on from 20 – 22 September 2016.
The conference is an annual gathering for showcasing various models of work-based learning set to be Africa’s premier event focusing on Work-Integrated Learning, partnerships between industry and educational institutions and all forms of learning and training in the work place. The South African Government strongly supports WIL as a significance & relevant learning model for Post-School Education and Training; that facilitates employability of learners & graduates globally. Research has shown that graduates who have been through the WIL programme have better employment prospects, access employment opportunities quicker and have well income earnings.
The Inaugural WIL Africa was held in November 2015 at UJ, supported by the Ministry of Higher Education and industry partners committed to advancement of WIL principles of work readiness training programmes. This year, we will see various educational institutions, industry, Government organisations, students and graduates participating to contribute to a National framework that will interrogation crucial policy issues in Human capital development.
WIL Africa 2016 Proceedings will include all accepted papers. WIL Africa Proceedings will be sent to be double blind peer reviewed for their inclusion in The African Journal for Work-Based Learning ISSN: 2412-7302 (printed) or ISSN: 2415-5055 (online).
